Chauncey Billups has won the hearts of the Knick fan base, and there’s certainly good reason for it. His perimeter shooting ability means he can help the Knicks defeat any team in the league on any night.
In these three sequences, Billups executes. Whether it be behind the arc or driving in the paint or stealing the basketball. It doesn’t matter. Chauncey does it all.
The hardest thing for D’Antoni to do is manage his minutes because he would certainly love to have him out on the floor, but his mileage doesn’t always allow that if D’Antoni wants him 100% come playoff time.
For a split second, the ESPN broadcast shows the reaction of Dwayne Wade, the man guarding Billups on the three pointer from way down town. It looks like he said something along the lines of “you got to be kidding me” after the shot was made. His body language suggests he’s angry, but shocked that that shot actually went in. Don’t worry Dwayne, we understand.
