    Dan-

so far I dont see any big +++ from the Melo trade. The team isnt better. And the games look more like playground than team efforts.

I liked our young guys. even with melo we all know what Amare needed was a bruiser
    and defensive Center.

I am really disappointed. and Dolans raising prices through the roof

the big +++++ of the melo trade is how easy amare gets his now, he is leading the league in scoring since the all star game….. amare will never face double teams if melo is on the floor, this will in the long run keep amare fresh and healthy for longer into his contract, thus extended his prime….. the center will come in the summer , the superstar would not have, young players can always be had, and if the experts are right and Fredette falls to us in the draft, the 3pt shooting that gallo gave us will def be forgotten…..

which ten man rotation will you rather have
      starters

      pg-felton
      sg-fields
      sf-gallo
      pf-amare
      c-mosgov

      bench

pg-fredette(draft express think he will fall to us)
      sg-douglas
sf/pf-Chandler(with melo not coming we would have to resign him)
      sf/pf-Williams
      c-Jefferies/Turiaf

      or

      starters
      pg-billups
      sg-fields
      sf-melo
      pf-amare
c-Dalembert(i assume he will come for the chance to get major minutes and a chance of winning a title)

      bench

      pg-fredette
      sg-douglas
      sf-williams
      pf-jefferies
      c- Turiaf

Ill take the second one everyday, that team packs more consistent scoring than the first team and the bench has way more defensive bite coupled with good three good offensive options.

        I like the first.

As a converted new Denver fans, so far, so good

      • http://knicksvision.com Dan Miranda

It’s a ton of guesses on both teams. I’d like to see how it plays out before judging.

      • FAIL

i like the old team with Dalembert. Ive been saying get Dalembert to back up Amare since last fall.

just anyone throw away your opinion and tell me how you have the 2-3 best players on the floor AND LOSE to scrub teams???

    • http://knicksvision.com Dan Miranda

The context of this statement couldn’t come at a more perfect time… if you had made this comment after the Miami win or the Utah win, and not during a two game losing streak, you’d be ridiculed. But of course, the highs and lows of the season will carry us through the year.

      • FAIL

Agreed…but the old team beat MIami and also had a 13 game win streak before it went back to 500 winning.

2nd- this is the team with MELO it is supposed to bet BETTER not SIDEWAYS.

Congratualtions to DAN your blog is an writing style really much better

        • http://knicksvision.com Dan Miranda

The old team also went through training camp, preseason, and had time to work out all the kinks. This squad is putting things together, learning a new playbook, and getting adjusted. Billups getting injured didn’t help.

There have been some bad losses, but also some magnificent wins. The balance has the ability to tip one way and fans start chanting “this team is lottery bound!” or “they will win a championship this year”. In reality, neither will happen.

Thanks for the note on the blog’s writing style being improved; it is appreciated.

It wasn’t pretty. Total lack of desire, passion and pride. I just kept thinking that this team s not and will never be a championship team. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, for now..

    • http://knicksvision.com Dan Miranda

You could say the same thing about the Lakers though in terms of effort. It’s all about conserving it for the right place and the right time. This team obviously plays up or down to its competition. You don’t beat Miami and lose to Cleveland if it’s not that way.

      • Anonymous

Difference is that the Lakers are a proven winner so the expectation of them shaping into form holds greater weight. I agree with playing up or down to their competition, its just frustrating to watch sometimes. I don’t mind them losing for whatever reason, but the lack of effort, desire and pride is something that is bothersome to say the least.

        • FAIL

agreed comparing to the Lakers who are going for a 3 peat isjust being clever and not being honest Dan

        • http://knicksvision.com Dan Miranda

Let’s be fair with our assessments and give this team time. Seeing a team beat the Knicks and they’re worse than the Knicks is probably the most frustrating thing in the world, but you have to assume it will get better. This team is just too talented.

Defenseless- usually leads to the other items on the list. Boring- I can tolerate it as long as it leads to a win. In this day and age, why would people want to sacrifice wins just to see ‘exciting’, ‘fast-paced’ basketball? That’s fine, but by now most people know that it doesn’t necessarily equate to wins.

    • http://knicksvision.com Dan Miranda

I think Jonah meant “boring” as in “boring for a Knicks fan because the game was so poor.” But in any event, it wasn’t a fun game at all.

Yea in “Boring” I meant exactly what Dan said. This was my first recap in this format so I am still figuring out how to clarify what I’m saying. Looks like its getting decent feedback so I will continue this. Now I need to be more clear on how I phrase it.

  • syj805

Nah I hear ya on that. All those points are right on the dot and then some, so keep it up man. Just wanted to diverge a bit though. I think we all know the value of good defense, and even though it might be boring in a game that is dominated by it, it’s something that is critical to win games.
